At The Photo ID Card People, we’ve always focused on one thing: making photo ID cards simple and accessible for everyone, no matter the size of the business. And thanks to the support of the Digital Enterprise programme, we’re now in a position to scale up our operations and provide an even better service to our clients. In fact, with our new Managed Services ID card portal, we’re aiming to boost our turnover by 50% over the next 12 months – a truly game-changing milestone for us.
The Complete ID Card Service
The Photo ID Card People started as part of a Secretariat company, creating ID cards for training providers. When a major client wanted a system that allowed training centres to print ID cards on site, we developed the software to make it happen. As we refined the software, we realised we could bring this service to a wider audience. And so, The Photo ID Card People was born.
Today, our goal is to ensure that anyone – whether a small business or a large corporation – can access high-quality, professional ID cards easily. We offer two straightforward online solutions, and have been cloud-based since the early days, well before cloud computing became the norm. Our online designer lets clients create their own ID cards from scratch, giving them full control over the look and feel of their cards. It’s flexible, easy to use, and ideal for companies with specific brand guidelines or varied staff roles.
The Digital Enterprise Projects: Moving Towards Innovation
We’ve completed three projects with support from Digital Enterprise, each one aimed at enhancing the way our customers interact with us and improving the service we provide.
- Project One focused on updating our ID card designer so it could be accessed via mobile devices. Originally a desktop-only application, we saw the need to make it mobile-friendly as more clients wanted the freedom to design and manage ID cards on the go.
- Project Two brought a new content management system to our main website. This update allowed us to communicate with our customers more effectively, giving the website a fresh, engaging feel that better reflects our brand.
- Project Three, and perhaps the most exciting, involved a complete overhaul of our Managed Services ID card portal. We’d known for a while this needed updating – it had served us well over the years, but technology and user expectations had moved on. Thanks to a DE3 Digital Enterprise grant, which covered nearly half the project’s costs, we’ve now been able to create the all-singing, all-dancing portal we’d envisioned.
An ID Card Portal Designed for Today’s Needs
With our new Managed Services ID card portal, we’re offering customers an experience that’s faster, more intuitive, and packed with new features. For our customers, the changes are clear. The portal is much simpler to navigate, with a clean, modern design that makes ordering ID cards quick and easy. It’s also far more functional, highly configurable and able to take away the administrative burden for our customers. In short, it’s everything we’d hoped it would be – and more.
For us, the impact is equally transformative. Updating the portal now means we’re set up to scale, handling higher volumes of orders and serving a growing customer base without the headaches that used to come with it. It’s a win-win situation: our customers enjoy a smoother, more seamless service, and we’re ready to grow without being held back by outdated technology.
Looking Ahead
In an industry where every detail matters, we’re proud of what we’ve built and excited for what’s to come. The support from Digital Enterprise has enabled us to fast-track a major upgrade and continue delivering on our commitment to quality, efficiency, and ease of use. With this new foundation in place, we’re well on our way to achieving our goal of increasing turnover by 50% – and we’re more dedicated than ever to making photo ID cards accessible for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
